“We are pleased to announce that effective 01-01-2024, the Department of Public Utilities has acquired all the assets of the Bull Swamp Rural Water Company, Inc.  The Management of the DPU would like to offer a special thanks to the former Board of Directors of the Bull Swamp Rural Water Company, Inc. for nearly 50 years of vision and dedication to the areas served by this rural water utility.  We will honor that legacy by ensuring the continued highest quality of service.

This transaction was approved unanimously by the rate payers of the former Bull Swamp Rural Water Company Inc.  Under this purchase, rate payers will see no immediate change to rates charged.  Rate payers will see higher levels of investment in the utility by nearly $10,000,000 thanks in part to grants funded by the SC Rural Infrastructure Authority.  More about these special investments can be found here:  SC RIA SCIIP Projects
